Apollo’s Diary Entry

There’s so much to tell you all, I don’t know where to start!

As you know I’ve been around for a little while now but this semester I was officially promoted to ‘program pony!’ You see, when I arrived I was acting a bit funny so a nice lady was organised to come & give me a massage. I didn’t really like her at first – she poked & prodded my sore bits! – but after a while I started to feel better & soon I was allowed to carry the real precious cargo 😊 Thanks Michelle!

In my year here at TT I very quickly learned that the one to ask for advice was Hannibal. He holds the record for the fastest promotion to program pony, he got to compete in all the competitions and everybody loved him; even when he pulled his scariest faces. So, after he sadly left us so suddenly, it was my absolute honour to fill in for him at Regional Mounted Games. It was truly beautiful to see how much he affected the humans around him and I hope that someday I’ll do him proud following in his footsteps.

Did you hear that I was the inspiration for a whole art exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art??? Ok, well not just me but all my stablemates too… There’s a video of a bunch of us – where I feature quite heavily I might add – & a rainbow mane the size of a whole wall! I was lucky enough to get a sneaky look at the video, the footage of the Willy Wagtails is the coolest & I have to say that I look incredibly handsome & distinguished in slow motion, it’s just a shame that I can’t say the same for some of my friends… (ok, I might be a little biased but I promise I didn’t use the word giraffe!) We definitely have some extremely talented volunteers!

As my first semester as an official program pony, and the year, draws to a close I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me in my new life, watching my new friends gain skills & confidence each week has been very humbling. Merry Christmas everyone, stay safe & I look forward to seeing you all next year!

Luv,

Apollo
