Life Skills Senses and Fun program

Our Focus

The Senses & Fun program at Tall Timbers is available for participants with a disability and will focus on:

Natural Wildlife Activites

Senses & Fun activities will be conducted with trained Tall Timbers Volunteers, coordinated by dedicated staff and allows participants to be part of the centre in an encouraging and inclusive environment.

This is a non riding program but our resident cat, and horses will still be part of the program as well as the natural wildlife we have around our property.

The Program

Each session, for a group, will be around 90 mins in length, with an ideal group size of 6 participants. Individual sessions are 45 minutes in length. There will be plenty of opportunity to have a varied experience during the program.

The contents of the program will be determined based on suitability of activities, availability of resources and the expected outcomes for each individual in conjunction with Service Providers as part of a Community Participation or Transition to Work program. Composite groups may be made up to enhance the experience of the participants.

Each Group or Service Provider MUST conduct their own Risk Assessment to manage risk as part of their Groups community participation activities and insurance.

Rural Property

When selecting participants Schools & Service Providers are reminded that Tall Timbers is situated on a rural property which includes rough terrain and uneven surfaces. Wheelchair based participants are welcome to participate in the program, the activities made available may be restricted in this case & Carer’s must be available to assist in manoeuvring wheelchairs. The activities recommended for each group will be assessed individually.
