Hi Everyone!
I’ve discovered something in the last few weeks – people are noisy! Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have things happening around here again & seeing all the smiling faces but I guess I’d forgotten that with those smiles come with laughter & happy chatter & that’s the best noise in the whole world!
It’s been a long (& quiet) 4 months but we’ve still been busy exercising & getting things ready to welcome everyone back when we were allowed. Well, there was that week when things weren’t so quiet thanks to the trucks & saws & hammering… we weren’t really sure what was going on but the human said that something cool was happening & took us up to sticky beak. You see, some days around here it just seems there are people everywhere & everyone is on top of each other! The trucks were bringing in stuff to build a cool little room especially for our awesome speech pathologist, Allicia, to work her magic. It’s very cute & has the best views on the property!
I have to admit I got a little jealous when Nugget got to play golf… Why wasn’t I invited?? I’m sure you’ve seen the photos, he’s been showing them off to everyone! It looks like so much fun & I wish I could be there on the day to cheer everyone on.
I have to say a huge thank you to Brian & Ian from Box Hill/Nelson RFS for spending a morning burning out rather large rubbish pile. Coming into summer not only do we need to make sure the property is fire safe but also take away as many of the hiding spaces for snakes & bunny rabbits. I don’t know about you but I’m scared of snakes & I’m just as scared of hurting my legs if I fall in the holes that the bunnies dig; I don’t want to have to change the way I play with Nugget, we have way too much fun running as fast as we can without looking where we are going!
I know it’s not really an Australian custom & I believe we should give thanks everyday but since it’s November I’d like to tell you all how thankful I am. Thankful for my friends, thankful to have my routine back, thankful for our supporters & volunteers who make our visions a reality & so thankful for our participants whose smiles & laughter make everything worth it!
