LJ’s Diary Entry

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to 2023! I hope you are all as excited about this year as I am. Firstly I have to say a huge thank you for voting me as Tall Timbers Horse of the Year for 2022! A surprise to say the least but what an honour just for doing the most fun job ever. I mean, where else could you win an award for making people smile every day.

Hey, have you noticed how good the arena is looking lately? It’s so much lighter & brighter in there since the workmen finished making all that noise, the big machines and banging metal were a bit scary, but it was worth it in the end and the best part is NO pigeons! So not only is it lighter in there but it’s quieter too! Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.

I’ve met a couple of new friends recently, Tyson & Fly have come to see what RDA is all about and I hope they love it as much as I do, though I’ve heard a lot of comparisons between Fly & myself, so I hope there’s room here for two over-friendly people ponies… What am I talking about, of course there is! It would be way too boring without us.

On a sad note, we had to say goodbye to Archie in January, we started working here about the same time although apparently, he had done this type of work before, he had just had a break while his leg healed from an injury. We used to have fun seeing who could pull the crankiest faces in the yards while we were waiting for our turn to work, the humans didn’t like our game, especially when we tried to include other horses walking by, but we enjoyed ourselves. RIP Archie, we will miss you.

As we start to welcome our participants, volunteers & supporters for the year, both new and returning, I hope your year is everything you need it to be, we wouldn’t be here without you all!

Luv L.J.
