Australian Disability Service Awards

RDA(NSW) Tall Timbers Centre was named as a finalist in Australian Disability Service Awards in the category of Most Outstanding Allied Health Organisation! These awards are open to NDIS providers and with over 350 nominations from around Australia across 12 categories for our small grass roots centre to be named as 1 of 3 Finalists in this award is AMAZING!

This validates that the work we do in this space and we are on track with the expectations of the community. Maddy has incorporated Equine programs where appropriate into her Occupational Therapy practice. Allicia has worked in the arena with participants to support their communication needs and we have transitioned Allied Health Participants into Equine programs utilising the Allied Health tools to support the participants in their ongoing learning. This is a model used overseas in equine programs and is increasing within Australia.

Very professionally run program....lovely people....and the horses are beautiful!

This program has benefited her so much. Even years ago, when she barely left the house, and we had to start homeschooling, this was a constant for her. Even then we had days where we had to cancel due to her anxiety. Now to see her go without anxiety, communicate with the volunteers on her own (I've actively tried to step back) and even cope with trotting (previously a lot of movement would cause panic). It is nothing short of amazing.
