About Us

What We Do

 Riding for the Disabled  Tall Timbers Centre is a Registered Charity and volunteer organisation that provides therapeutic fun and engaging horse-related programs to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Our Centre takes a Customer centered approach to enhance abilities with programs such as life skills programs, equine-related programs and Allied Health Services – Occupational therapy, Speech Pathology, MHFL(Robyn). Riders can participate at a therapeutic, recreational or competitive level.

Our Programs

RDA programs cater for people with disabilities for a variety of reasons such as intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, injuries resulting from accidents, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome, visual and hearing impairments, autism, amputees, behavioural management.

RDA (NSW) Tall Timbers Centre is situated on 25 acres in Gables, approximately 1 hour’s drive north-west of Sydney CBD in NSW.  We operate six days a week providing facilities for approximately 180 people with disabilities per annum who come from schools, care centres and individually.

NDIS – If you are Plan Managed or Self Managed, RDA(NSW) Tall Timbers Centre can provide services to Participants under Participate Community and Develop Life Skills funding groups. 

Service NSW Active Kids Vouchers

RDA(NSW) Tall Timbers Centre is an Active Kids Provider and accepts Vouchers to offset the cost of participating in our programs. 

Our Team

Tall Timbers is staffed by a paid Coach and several volunteer Coaches, together with a paid Administrator, a full-time Horse Manager, a full time coach/admin assistant, a paid Life Skill Program Co-ordinator and casual staff coaches.

Volunteers assist the riders and lead horses as well as assisting with the life skills program, fundraising and property maintenance.
