Florence

Florence has been part of the Tall Timbers team since November 2014.

Florence quickly entrenched herself in the Centre 3 days a week starting out working in the gardens to maintain them as part of our Senses and Fun program and assisted with our Corporate Working Bee days. She also assisted participants while they attended the Senses and Fun program with one of our Coaches. Over time Florence began assisting with the riding program as well learning how to lead the horses, sidewalk with riders and be an observer. Florence also helps us to clean up around the horse yards and set up and pack of the arena.

Florence loves coming the “work” 3 days a week and is happy to take on any task that is asked of her.

Very professionally run program....lovely people....and the horses are beautiful!

This program has benefited her so much. Even years ago, when she barely left the house, and we had to start homeschooling, this was a constant for her. Even then we had days where we had to cancel due to her anxiety. Now to see her go without anxiety, communicate with the volunteers on her own (I've actively tried to step back) and even cope with trotting (previously a lot of movement would cause panic). It is nothing short of amazing.
